Our Humourous Speech Workshop on 7 Nov had participants rolling in laughter π€£π€£ and was a roaring success ππ»ππ» with 67 participants learning from our Champion Clement Chio! π€©π₯³
We began with a physical exercise to prime our participants and mimic laughter by having them go ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! πππ Our participants gained hands-on experience on creating humour either through dry humour (wordplay) or slapstick humour (dramatic effect) and took away lots of jokes to tell friends and family! π
Humour is often a consequence of a combination of words, but mostly body language and vocal variety. So let us try to humour you with the jokes of the day:
– So, I named my toilet π½ Jim, so that I can tell everybody, every morning I go to the Gym ποΈ (a homonym!).
– What doesnβt kill you β οΈπ… Disappoints me π
– My girlfriend is just like a Unicorn π¦ , …. It doesnβt exists! π
It was not just a lecture on how to be humourous – it was an interactive, hands-on workshop!
And the greatest takeaway: Can humour be learnt? Yes! Humour can be acquired by everyone. π€©πͺπ»
Come and join us at our next meeting on 5th Dec 2019! π
