Clement’s journey with Toastmasters began in 2013, where he quickly demonstrated a passion for public speaking and leadership. He served as the Vice President of Public Relations that year, followed by a successful term as President in 2014. In 2015, Clement expanded his influence by becoming an Area Director, supporting multiple clubs and fostering a culture of excellence and growth.
His dedication and achievements in the Toastmasters community culminated in earning the prestigious Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) title in 2016. Clement’s competitive speaking prowess is also well-recognized; he became the Area Champion for the International Speech Contest in 2014 and was crowned District Level Champion in both the Humorous Speech and Speech Evaluation Contests in 2016.
During the challenging COVID-19 period in 2021, Clement once again stepped up as President, guiding his club through unprecedented times and ensuring its continued success and resilience.
Since 2015, Clement has been a dedicated mentor, helping new and seasoned speakers refine their skills and gain confidence. Professionally, he is an Executive Public Speaking and Communications Coach and Trainer, using his extensive experience to empower individuals to communicate effectively and with confidence in various professional settings.
Encey Yao

Encey has been an active Toastmaster since 2016, embracing a wide range of speeches and projects throughout his Toastmasters journey. He loves clever wordplay and enjoys learning new techniques to improve speech writing.
Encey has served in numerous club Exco roles such as Club President, Vice President of Education, Vice President of Public Relations, Secretary, and Sergeant at Arms. Beyond the club level, he served as Division B Public Relations Manager in 2017-2018 and helped charter the UOB Toastmasters Club as a Club Sponsor.
This term (2024-2025), Encey has been nominated by District 80’s Club Growth Director, DTM Aaron Ting, to serve as a Club Foundation Specialist, focusing on strengthening community clubs.
Of the many clubs he’s been to, Buona Vista Toastmasters Club feels most like home to Encey. He hopes to bring more value to the club by serving as a mentor.
Junda Huang
Persuasive Influence 3, Competent Communicator
Junda joined BVTMC in 2016 and has served in various Exco roles such as President, Treasurer (twice) and Vice President of Membership.
He has found BVTMC to be an invaluable platform for pushing his public speaking boundaries and learning from individuals from all walks of life. Motivated by the desire to give back, Junda is a dedicated mentor in BVTMC. During meetings, he proactively shares constructive feedback with other members beyond his mentees.
When approaching goals and dreams, he strongly believes in the mantra, “If not now, then when?”. “One day” will never come if you don’t make concrete plans and steps for it today.
Outside of Toastmasters, Junda enjoys Latin social dancing like salsa and bachata, and has a keen interest in personal finance. When he passionately talks about Central Provident Fund (CPF), it sounds like he is from CPF board itself.
Melvin Tan
Visionary Communication 4
Melvin embarked on his Toastmasters journey in 2018 to enhance his public speaking and interpersonal communication skills. Through the completion of numerous project speeches, Melvin has evolved into a more confident and eloquent speaker. His roles as Toastmaster of the Day and Table Topics Master have further refined his ability to engage and connect with audiences. Now, he can convey his thoughts more clearly and connect with the audience more effectively.
Throughout his Toastmasters experience, Melvin’s leadership skills have grown significantly. Serving as Vice President of Education in 2019, Club President in 2020, and Area Director in 2021, he tackled various challenges and seized valuable opportunities. These roles have greatly strengthened his capacity to lead teams toward excellence.
For Melvin, one of the most rewarding aspects of his Toastmasters experience is the fellowship. At Buona Vista Toastmasters Club, he has formed meaningful connections with people from diverse backgrounds, exchanged ideas, and shared experiences with newer members. This community has truly become his home.
