BVTMC’s First Wine & Cheese Tasting!

No way, there is wine at the event? And cheese too? Are you sure this is a Toastmasters meeting?

Bonjour! BVTMC held its very first Wine & Cheese Tasting event as we became a mini-France 🇫🇷 this March! In line with the French theme, members and guests are all chicly dressed up in the national colours of France: Blue 👖, White 👨‍🍳 or Red 💃!

Encey began the session by asking everyone to introduce themselves and 1 French word that they know! This post will be peppered with French words found in the English language or words with French roots, so keep an eye out for them.

Howard told us his story about his marriage life 👫 and how the different wiring in man and woman’s brains can lead to different interpretations and how to resolve conflicts. Sebastien illustrated his story of how his mentor was his inspiration and helped him grow professionally. Nicco explored the topic of happiness 😁 by asking us, “How many of you are happy today?” Tushar gave an informative speech about how to select cameras 📷. I always wondered why people would splurge on a DSLR when our phone cameras have advanced so much these days. Now, we know better! 😁

Even though we were missing the baguette 🥖 and hand-kissing, Sebastien immersed us in the French culture by lead us through the intricacies of wine tasting! We had red wine 🍷, white wine, wheat and Meiji crackers 🍘 and cheese 🧀. After some social drinking, our guests are ready to rock-and-roll during our table topics session! As a table topic master, Sebastien brought us a flavour of France with his topic of favourite French food and wine-related quotes.

Sandip 🚴 and Pei Geok came back from the land of Kangaroos and Koalas to visit! We are really happy to see them back, nothing beats being able to catch up with old friends face-to-face! 🙆

Welcome Cherelle to BVTMC! Also congrats to Howard for the double ribbon 🎀 win of best speaker and best evaluator!! 🤩💪🏻 It must be the “men exist to make women happy” that won you the heart of many ladies 😜 Congrats to Stephanie (guest) for best table topics speaker!

Finally, répondez s’il vous plait (R.S.V.P) at our next meeting via
